How to be a Player in the Game of the Recording Industry: Recording

How Good is Your Recording?

I can not stress enough the importance of proper recording. Something that I did not mention was, when you are soliciting your music to A&Rs, Labels, and Executives who could put money into your music…keep the intro at the beginning of your song SHORT! A lot of times, these people are so busy that they do not have time to wait for your music begin. I know that sounds silly, but I have witnessed it happen.

To play devil’s advocate, look at it from their perspective. You have to put your best foot forward with your best material. You really don’t have to impress them with a lot of content, a sniplet of your music should be good as long as it contains the hook. You could lead off with the hook, verse, then hook and then your done.

Don’t give them too much or you will give them too much to think about, don’t give them too little because you will be forgotten…Give them just enough to entice and excite them about your music and your project. Leave all of your contact information and links to get the full versions online if they are interested. some times, less is more.
Be safe.
‘Til next time.
