Shawnna is not only building her own fan awareness, but she is doing it with her own female crew of talent. She has begun to take female artists from Chicago, St. Louis and the Midwest to groom them for the business. What can be better than that from one of the industry most adored and lyrical female artists. “I feel there is a lack of camaraderie among women in Hip-Hop, I just want to build a team of women who are incredible lyricist, quality performers and solid business women. I didn’t have that when I started, that and that’s one of the main reasons I am building the GMGirls movement,” says Shawnna.
The video for the Horror Show was shot at Dream Reepers, one of Chicago’s top rated haunted houses. It created a poignant backdrop for the Halloween festivities and storyline of the video. Directed by Raphah Anderson and Produced by Shawnna, the video captured the darker elements of the song with its images and actors, and used lighting to highlight the chilling essence of the haunted house. This creates a true Horror Show for the viewers.
