Searching for Independent Artists: Summer of SUM Tour Invades a City near You

For more than three years, social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and YouTube has
allowed people of all ethnicities to expose their talent through the eyes of a lens, exposing influential
moments of their lives through a portal to the entire world, the stage. In 2011, a new opportunity hit the
streets allowing diverse backgrounds the opportunity to expose their talent, while building an audience that
believes in their abilities. This year, the Summer of SUM Tour, a national independent music tour founded by
Seven Hughes will strike seven cities, beginning in Atlanta, Ga., on Thursday, June 21, 2012. The tour will
land in several cities, exposing talented, driven and ambitious independent artists and unsigned hype. The
sophomore tour will end in Los Angeles on Thursday, July 19, 2012.
Branded as the “Nations First and Only Independent Music Tour,” the internationally recognized, Summer
of SUM Tour was designed to present local independent artists, in selected markets, the opportunity to
showcase their talents on a national platform, while gaining the experience of what “major” artists experience
in the entertainment industry. Would you like the opportunity to get paid for your talent and gain national
exposure, if so, the Summer of SUM Tour is for you. Independent artist and musicians must register at
www.summerofsumtour.com, to be selected as an aspiring opening act, feature or guaranteed act in the tour.
The Summer of SUM Tour ranges from a variation of music genres, such as Pop, R&B, Hip Hop and Soul.
Opening and Feature registered artists will be judged in opposition to competitors that are registered in the
same category and city for their chance to perform when the Summer of SUM Tour comes to their market.
Registration ends on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.
13 independent artists will be selected from each city and will gain national exposure that is invaluable,
creating opportunities for artists featured. All selected acts will gain exposure through a variation of
advertisements, including the opportunity to appear on the Summer of SUM Tour website. Each artist will
receive 50 free radio spins on Monster Music Radio, www.monstermusicradio.com, an internet radio station
dedicated to indie music and unsigned hype.
Independent artists can earn up to $500 per show or up to $3500 for the entire tour. Artists will be paid a
standard rate by the Summer of SUM Tour, plus a bonus based on the total amount of tickets sold in their
name and venue occupancy. Advance tickets will be available online, via www.huesenttix.com and interested
persons can also purchase their tickets at the door or from the Event Promoter.
The Summer of SUM Tour is not only an outlet for unsigned hype or underground talent; it creates an
opportunity for new developments and businesses to build their brand with a reputable national organization
through sponsorship. Interested sponsors will have the opportunity to gain national exposure. Sponsors will
also have the opportunity to purchase program space, promoting their product or a featured independent
artist. Businesses ranging from small businesses to entertainment attorneys are encouraged to submit an artist.
Advertising packages are very affordable for businesses and organizations.
