CM. Let me start off saying that you have a crazy buzz going on right now you and the word on the streets is that you are the next hip hop rapper to take over the music game. How do you feel about that?
YP. It feels great, I have worked really hard to get my name and my movement where its at today. I have done everything independently. I’ve went state to state promoting myself and my Real Nigga Syndrome Movement. Doing mad shows, radio station appearances, going to all the different hoods getting that street respect.
CM. That’s impressive, so tell me where are you from?
YP. I’m from South Side Jamaica Queens. born in BAISLEY PROJECT raised in 40PROJECTS
CM. How would you say that your hometown and the people in it influenced any of your lyrics in your music.
YP. MY HOOD IS WHY MY MUSIC SOUNDS THE WAY IT DOES I WAS OUTSIDE SINCE I WAS 10yrs old BUT I WAS ON THE BLOCK FOR YEARS THEN I DID OTHER THINGS THAT LEAD ME TO LEAVING THE HOOD AND MOVING TO GATED HOMES AND LIVING IN OTHER CITY’S BUT I ALWAYS WENT HOME. I HAD SOMETHING HAPPEN THAT MADE ME HAVE TO BE BACK IN MY HOOD AND I SEEN THAT THE SAME SHIT WAS GOIN ON AND COMING FROM PLACES THAT WAS HOOD JUST LET ME NO I NEED TO TALK TO THE PPL THAT CAME FROM WHAT I CAME FROM OR THEY ONE WHO ARE STILL THERE
CM. So tell me a little bit about how it was growing up in South Side and what made you realize that you wanted to pursue a career in music?
YP. First and foremost let me start off by saying that South Side is a place like no other. I have witnessed so much growing up there that I cant even begin to tell you what its like, you will just have to come out and see for yourself. I had a cousin of mine who had a record ent. Company and growing up around that had a big influence on me and I knew that I wanted to be an music artist ever since i was a young kid.
Cm. Musically who are your biggest influences?
YP. LOST BOYZ JEEZY NAS & everybody that made something out of nothing.
CM. What can people expect when they hear your music?
YP. 100% authentic all the way real. Like Imma tell you about balling, buying this buying that having everything I could possibly want and some. To hitting the clubs blowing money like it was nothing.To the flashy cars to endless amounts of money. Then Ima tell u how it all was gone and how I was back to nothing, then I’m going to tell you how I got it all back. I say that to say, all your going to get from me is the same thing that niggas are going through everyday just in another niggas mind and body. I’m their voice, your going to hear my pain of what I have experienced in my life I keep it 100.
CM. OK I feel that. So what makes your music stand out from other hip hop artist?
YP. It’s not trendy, It’s real, something different and new. It’s Real Nigga Syndrome baby.
CM. So what exactly does Real Nigga Syndrome mean?
YP. IT MEANS THAT YOUR A STAND UP MAN OR WOMEN, U KNOW LIKE U AIN’T NEVER TELL, U AIN’T NO HOMO, AND YOUR NOT SELLIN YA SOUL FOR $
CM. What are your immediate career goals?
YP. To work harder and grind it out and become a household name.
CM. Ok I like the determination, motivation and drive you have.
CM. How would you describe your musical style?
YP. U ALREADY NO IT’S REAL NIGGA SYNDROME
CM. What are the main influences to the music you write?
YP. The bottom, poverty.
CM. What do you hope to accomplish throughout your music career
YP. To much to say….
CM. What would you say inspires you to keep going the rough struggles of an up and coming artist?
YP. I NO GOD HAS A PLAN FOR ME IN THIS
CM. What are your thoughts on the current state of the game?
YP. It’s cool there is a lot of artist out there doing there thing but it definitely needs help.
CM. So what are some of the projects that you have done already and what are your currently working on?
YP. Before rap I went on tour with the lost BOYZ when I was a kid. But I been on the road with NAS, YOUNG BUCK, LIL SCRAPPY, TOPA DA LYNE. As a artist. I have mixtapes out hosted by SUPER STAR JAY, IT’S a lot google my name or real nigga syndrome and you’ll see I’m hot now my past ain’t got shit on my future.
CM. As an artist how do you define success?
YP. Well as a real nigga I define success when I can’t get no more.
